About Me!

Hey there! My name is Tayler Pierson and I am from Omaha, Nebraska. I currently attend Texas State University, majoring in Digital Media Innovation. I choose this major because I love making videos and this major can lead to a rewarding career in videography. Creating videos that inform the world, featuring different perspectives on controversial views, can overall educate and bring many together.

I attended Papillion La-Vista South High School. I grew up in a super small town where literally everyone knew each other. I was super active in high school, including Student Council, DECA, Junior class officer and Varsity Cheerleading Captian. In my senior year, I was even nominated for homecoming court. You would think with all of that I was super outgoing, confident and happy in general. Yet, not all of those assumptions are correct.

In high school, I actually had very low self-esteem and never really saw my worth, regardless of what others thought about me. I grew up in a predominately white area where I was always looked at as the “token black friend”. This was super hard for me because I grew up with all my friends being beautiful blonde girls with pretty blue eyes. I saw this as the definition of beauty so I never saw myself like that, which overall took a toll on my mental health.

As I got older, I realized that was not the only definition of beauty. My friends informed me how beautiful I was but my childhood mindset was still there. It took until graduating and moving out of my hometown for me to really start to see who I really was.

This summer I really began to take care of myself. I started working out, journaling about my feelings, reading self-help books and overall trying to love myself and put myself first. I finally started to see a glow in myself that I had not seen in a long time.

I saw the beauty that before I had only seen in others, not myself. I decided to make this website to share tips and tricks about how to become an empowered woman. It took me so long to figure it out and I want this site to make it easier for the next generation of teenage girls who feel how I did. My target audience is women who want to better themself.

I hope to share healthy ways of dealing with things and everyday activities that will help women all flourish. I still have a long way to go but so does everyone. I hope this site is something that brings light to many and a better outlook for all. I am excited to build a community of amazingly strong women. As we grow in our journey, look out for an upcoming youtube channel that will consist of interviews with different women and their stories. Can’t wait to grow with you all!
